Order Tracking

A thangka takes months to paint, so tracking here is mostly about progress rather than parcels. Once a work is in transit the courier's own tracking takes over.

6 stages · dispatch to delivery

Look up an order

Where is the work?

Enter the reference from your invoice. If the order is still in the painting stage the lookup returns the current stage rather than a carrier movement.

Printed on the invoice and in the dispatch email. If you do not have it, use your email address instead and leave this blank.

Only needed if the order is already in transit.

  1. Received

Your request is read by the studio and the composition, format and palette are confirmed in writing before anything is painted.

  2. In the painting

Ground, grid, pigments and modelling. This is the long stage — months, not weeks — and progress photographs are available on request.

  3. Gilding

24-karat leaf applied and burnished in one pass. No photographs of the face are sent at any point before the eyes are opened.

  4. Crated

Weighed, measured, photographed and packed in a museum-grade crate. The dossier is bound into the crate at this point.

  5. In transit

Insured door to door. Customs documentation is prepared on your behalf and the tracking number is issued to you directly.

  6. Delivered

Signature on receipt. The 14-day returns window runs from this date, not from dispatch.

Insurance, customs handling and the condition in which a crate must be returned are set out in the shipping policy and the returns policy.
